It took 6 weeks for the spares to arrive in Colombia, but with a new wishbone and steering arm, and the wing filled and painted Krosy is good as new. We'll return to Medellin in December.

We hit a deep pothole and smashed the suspension. Mercifully a truck driver stopped and spent hours helping us, including organising a tow truck into Medellin.

With no road across the Darien Gap, we flew Krosy from Panama City to Bogota, spending the weekend in this great city before hitting the road again.

After a long 8 months, we are back on the road in San Jose, Costa Rica and heading south to try and cross into Panama, after the border was closed last year when we tried.

2024 Challenge: To the End of The World is to drive 6,600 miles from Bogota, Colombia to Ushuaia, Argentina, the most southerly po nt of the Americas.

It wasn’t the end of the 2023 Challenge we expected, but we are not down-heartened. We’ve driven more than 8,000 miles across 8 countries in the last 8 months. Can’t wait to be back in 2024!

With civil unrest and numerous road blocks, the border into Panama was closed. Plans quickly changed, we headed back north, rising to 11,000 feet as we crossed the mountains into the capital.

Another tough border crossing of more than 4 hours, including more than an hour delay for the insurance guy to have his lunch! Tense last hour, with flooding and loosing a dipped beam.

Touch and go at the border, with long discussions about what we are up to, but then stunning scenery and our first police stop for speeding…thankfully let off with a warning.

Hard border crossing but then the reward of fast winding dual carriageway across the mountains from the north of Honduras to the capital. 12 hours on the road today.

After three hours on broken roads with some damage to the front of the car, the tarmac thankfully returned. Averaged just 25 mph over the day.

Krosy as he’s become known (KR05 YWU) is now safely stored in Cancun. Already the planning has started for our return in October and our plan to reach the Panama Canal.

What an amazing 6,000 miles from New York. From -8C in Detroit to +39C in the jungles of south Mexico, and as high as 12,500 ft coming out of Mexico City, our Vantage has done us proud.

The Palenque Ruins of the Maya people were a real highlight, and we returned to find a crowd of enthusiastic locals who couldn’t believe that an Aston Martin had made it to the jungle.

Took a patience sapping 2 1/2 hours to get our paperwork sorted at the border, but the welcome from the locals and desert scenery have made it all worthwhile.

This NASCAR race was the first thing that went into our schedule, and it really didn’t disappoint. Earplugs were essential and real rare racing. Just superb.

The car has been loaded onto the ship Atlantic Sail, and will be departing in the next couple of days. Next stop the USA, and we will be meeting it in New York at the end of the month.
